Is the reference on a gas spring unique?

Yes. The various gas spring brands – Stabilus (Lift-o-mat, Bloc-o-lift, Hydro-lift), Suspa, Hahn, Airax, Bansbach, etc. – all use unique references. If the reference in the item description on our website is identical to the reference on your gas spring (whether or not there are other numbers and letters), you can assume that the gas spring on our website is exactly the same as your gas spring.

Sometimes customers find it hard to identify exactly which numbers and letters are ‘the reference’. This is because as well as the unique reference that you need to order an identical replacement gas spring, gas springs usually have various other numbers and letters printed on them that have nothing to do with the order you are trying to make. For example, there might be information about the date of manufacture, the production batch or other information that only the manufacturer can decipher. To help you understand exactly which numbers and letters you are interested in, we’ve explained which numbers you need to look at for each brand to find the right gas spring. Click here.

For some of the gas springs on the website, you will only see a generic drawing and photo. These are gas springs for which we don’t have a unique photo or technical drawing. Hinscha guarantees that if the reference on our website exactly matches the reference on your gas spring, the gas spring itself will be identical to your old gas spring.
